CCG Staff visit the Medlock Valley

The CCG staff team visited the Medlock Valley Project in Manchester. This project was the winner of the ‘Area Based Partnership’ award at the BURA Waterways Renaissance Awards. 

Greenway Reaches Nashville

Greenway Reaches Nashville East Belfast Partnership’s Connswater Community Greenway project continues to attract interest from across the Atlantic. Following visits from distinguished environmental campaigner Majora Carter and guests from the US Consulate and Department of State in recent months, Dr Robert Bogen from Nashville Tennessee called in to their office at 274 Newtownards Road to find out more about the project.

CCG Primary School Competition

Local school children recently entered a drawing competition organised by the Connswater Community Greenway project. Over 500 entries were received from the local primary schools with a winner and runner up selected from each of the participating schools.

Sustrans Visit the CCG

Sustrans Visit the CCG Sustrans Board of Directors visited the Connswater Community Greenway recently. They were taken on a short walk along part of the Greenway route where Sammy Douglas presented the Chair with a duck as a reminder of their visit to the Greenway.  

Wendy outlined the project and joined the Sustrans Board at a meeting to discuss the future of the Comber Greenway. 

Orangefield Summer Bug Hunt

Orangefield Summer Bug Hunt

Belfast City Council in association with Bloomfield Wildlife Watch held a fun ‘bug day’ in Orangefield Park on Saturday 6th June. 

 The event was part of the BBC’s Breathing Places programme and included prizes for the best costume made out of recycled materials, beekeeping talks, a mini beast hunt, planting of wildflower plugs and much more. Connswater Community Greenway was delighted to be involved in this event.
