Construction continues across East Belfast and another section of the Greenway path is set in place…

Construction continues on the Connswater Community Greenway with earthworks, drainage and concreting taking place at the Holywood Arches section of the Connswater Community Greenway.

Unfortunately, some of the pedestrian pathways at the Holywood Arches section have been closed off for the duration of the works here. This is to facilate the construction of the C.S. Lewis Civic Square. Our contractor, Farrans Construction has put diversions in place until the construction is complete in this area (estimated late 2015). Not far from here along the ‘Black Path’ (Sydenham Bypass to Mersey Street, section D4 & D5) the contractor continues to build platforms in preparation for piling works here and this section will remain closed until late 2016. Diversions have also been set in place to facilitate pedestrians for the duration of the works here. In Dixon Park (C5) Farrans continue with earthworks and drainage, getting ready for works on bridges and concrete.

(Construction of the Connswater Community Greenway continues...)
At the lower Connswater sections from Sydenham Bypass to Mersey Street the piling platforms are ready for piling to begin. Along Orby Road the contractor has been continuing with ducting for electrical cabling and installing the new greenway granite kerb detail.

Finally, in the Orangefield Park to Knock Dual Carriageway section (C7) Farrans continue to install new fencing in private properties and have also successfully completed a section of the new Connswater Community Greenway pathway continuing from our existing pathway in Orangefield Park.
