Construction continues with the formation of new pathways, landscaping and night works taking place in the Sydenham area

Phase 2 construction of the Connswater Community Greenway is continuing well with landscaping in the Clarawood area taking shape. Crane platforms in the Dixon Playing Fields in place, ready for the arrival of the areas new bridges, which are currently being manufactured. Whilst at Grand Parade, works on the installation of ornamental fencing has begun. At the Holywood Arches area paving work progresses well outside the Holywood Arches Library.

In the Loopland area drainage works continue, some further piling works are due and works on the areas flood walls are set to begin soon. Across the scheme in the Ladas Drive/ Montgomery Road area works on Flood walls make good progress.

Road works along the upper Cregagh Road and Montgomery Road are also progressing well. Our contractor will soon be re-entering the Glenn Road at Clarawood/ the Braniel to continue kerbing and resurfacing works.

A one way road closure at Montgomery Road remains in place Monday – Friday 9.30 am – 4pm. The Cregagh Road has partial lane closures with off peak traffic lights from 10am – 3.30pm.  Works in the Cregagh Glenn continue to progress well and the closure of the pathway should continue to mid-March.

Our contractor will be required to carry out some essential night works on the Sydenham Bypass Bridge from Monday 7th March 2016 for approximately one week. During this period working hours will run from 11pm – 7am.

This essential work must take place at night for the health and safety of all involved whilst working in close proximity to the Northern Ireland Railway.

Please be assured that these works have been carefully planned to try and minimise the amount of noise and light disruption experienced.
