National Gardening Week celebrated with new website feature

To coincide with National Gardening Week from 10th – 16th April we’re delighted to announce our new What’s Growing on the Greenway addition to our website. With over 300 trees planted in C.S. Lewis Square alone, more than 50 different types of plants and shrubs along the Greenway and new riverside planting, we are keen to watch, learn and record what and how well the Greenway is growing.

The Paul Hogarth Company is the Landscape Architecture company responsible for the overall Greenway master plan and Phase 2 detailed design, and we have partnered with them for the next year to write our What’s Growing on the Greenway blog.

As Phase 2 construction of the Connswater Community Greenway draws to a conclusion with the opening of the last section on April 25th, we also want to encourage people to explore and share what they find along the Greenway when they are out and about.

With each blog we will identify something growing on the Greenway, provide some key facts, pictures and locations on the Greenway. We are starting with the Alder trees planted alongside the Loop River.
