Minister for the Environment Mark H Durkan yesterday (Tuesday 26th May) visited east Belfast to view at first hand the transformation of parks, open spaces and rivers along the new Connswater Greenway route.

Works on Phase 2 construction of the Connswater Community Greenway begin to build momentum as several work fronts open across East Belfast.

Works have now begun at Mersey Street (section D4), the Ballymacarrett Walkway (Sydenham Bypass to Mersey Street, section D5) as Farrans close both walkways to continue stripping revetment stone along the Connswater River banks.

Phase 2 construction works update; signage starts to go up, earthworks continue and Black Path closes

Farrans continue to make good process in Orangefield Park to Knock Dual Carriageway section (C7) with earthworks and drainage. Pedestrian diversions for both pathways are now in place. Accommodation works for local residents are also due to begin shortly in this area.

Our contractor, Farrans Construction continue to make good process in the Orangefield Park to Knock Dual Carriageway (section C7) with earthworks and drainage works moving towards the knock dual carriageway. Pedestrian Diversions for both pathways are underway as works progress past existing walkways.
