Phase 2 construction continues and 'Black Path' closure...

The construction of our Connswater Community Greenway continues with work focusing on the Orangefield Park to Knock Dual Carriageway section (C7) of the Greenway. Farrans Construction continue to make good process in section C7 with earthworks and drainage. Elsewhere the contractor has successfully completed some ducting for street lighting on the Montgomery Road (A4) and the Cregagh Road (A3), works are been carried out now on major road junctions in advance of main works to minimise later disruption.

East Belfast Flood Alleviation Scheme works update: Disruption expected on Castlereagh Road

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development's (DARD) Rivers Agency are working in partnership with us (Connswater Community Greenway project to deliver elements of the East Belfast Flood Alleviation Scheme (EBFAS) which will help reduce flooding to 1,700 properties in East Belfast.

We are now just over three months into construction of the Connswater Community Greenway!

Sam Thompson Bridge still “Sam- thing” special, one year on…

Just 1 year on our Sam Thompson Bridge has become an integral and critical link for people in east Belfast. It has encouraged more people to walk, cycle and get out and visit Victoria Park. The installation of the bridge at this location has meant that people are now able to gain access into Victoria Park for the first time from the Harbour Estate, consequently opening up access to Titanic Quarter and the city centre for residents, visitors and commuters.

Connswater Community Greenway Phase 2 Construction Update

Can you believe we are already nearly three months into construction of Phase 2 of Connswater Community Greenway?
Work is currently focusing on the Orangefield Park to Knock Dual Carriageway section (C7) which will eventually extend Orangefield Park into Laburnum, Clarawood and the Braniel. At Laburnum Playing Fields our contractor, Farrans Construction, is making good progress with earthworks, drainage and path formation. Work has also begun on construction of the C.S. Lewis Civic Square at Holywood Arches, just off the Newtownards Road.
