Sam Thompson Bridge reaches 200,000 crossings less than a year from opening...

Today our Sam Thompson Bridge, which opened less than a year ago reached a huge milestone as it hit 200,000 crossings! The bridge was installed last year on 4th April 2014 as part of the first phase of our £40 million Connswater Community Greenway project.

Last year, the East Belfast Partnership successfully secured National Lottery funding through the Arts Council NI to create a piece of art to improve the appearance of the backs of the buildings adjacent to what will eventually become the Connswater Community Greenway’s C.S. Lewis Civic Square (beside the Holywood Arches, east Belfast).

Phase 2 construction of the Connswater Community Greenway is now well underway with work focusing on site clearance and construction of the Greenway at the Orangefield Park to the Knock Dual Carriageway section(C7). 

Meet the buyer event

Belfast City Council are holding a Meet the Buyer event to help Businesses find out about current and upcoming sub contracting opportunities on a range of projects including the Connswater Community Greenway.

At the event businesses will be given the opportunity to hear an overview of the project and meet representatives of Farrans to discuss available works packages.
